Luxe Leopard - Sophisticated Girly

This one is going to be one of my all time favs! I just love leopard and when you throw fur along with it, I am sold! Check out my auction by clicking on my auctions link.
Kyla, my niece, had a blast modeling this sublime little number even though it was near 9o degrees out! I had to practically peel the fur coat off of her!

Stay tuned for some news about a new elite group I will be joining ~ soon to be announced!

A week of "Firsts"...

This week we had a lot of "firsts" as they call it....
Malaina had her first day of Kindergarten and finished out her "first" official week just fine! She also had a fall on our playard in the backyard and now has her "first" and hopefully last cast. Here she is posing in her new Ariel mermaid outfit that she picked out as a result of mommy and daddy's sympathy shopping spree!

Savannah actually decided she too wanted to posed for the camera. This definitely is a "first". I am always chasing and poking and prodding to get the perfect shot, but just this once she announced that she actually wanted to "strike a pose" for mommy.

As for me, I have actually began to understand my camera and how all the little gadgets and gizmos work and what I can do with them. I took some shots of our flowers in our garden and got some good shots.....this is my "first". My first outdoor picture I actually think looks pretty darn good!

I often play dress up with my girlies and oh do they love to make-up mom! The end result is an array of colors and smudges and I "ooh" and "aah" at the mirror to their hearts content. It usually takes me awhile to wash off the dark cherry red lipstick and blush from my face. The hairspray is so think I feel as if glue has been dumped on my head! After begging and pleading Malaina convinced me to take a picture of myself. If anyone knows me, this is another "first" for me and I will leave it at that.....

First day of Kindergarten!!!

Today was the BIG day! We sent our daughter Malaina off to her first day of Kindergarten!
I was just as excited for this day as she was. We were fully prepared. We had the backpack all picked out. The perfect outfit, the perfect boots and the perfect hair. But there was one thing I was not prepared for and that was the tears.

All week everyone kept asking me "Are you ready?" Of course I am ready, I was born ready. What do I need to be ready for? She had already attended pre-school the year before a couple days a week so this is nothing new to me. As she lined up with all of the other kidlets and the teacher said her hellos I began to get a little nervous and feel the lump growing in the back of my throat. The principal came out as well and gave a little speech and soon after they were off! The kids sped off into the doors of the school as if it has just been announced there was a candy buffet awaiting them inside. No goodbye kiss, no hug, only a wave and a "goodbye mom and dad". And that is what did it, that is what brought on the tears! My little girl is growing up and did not need a hug or a kiss or the reassurance in this "new" environment she did not know. That is what really got me.

When it was time for me to go pick her up I was hungry with anticipation just waiting to hear the news of her first day! "So just what did you learn today in school" I asked.

"Oh, you can't get up to drink water whenever you want...you have to ask first."

Okay..."Anything else?"
"No, we just played and colored and talked today for our first day but I did meet some friends."
Curious I asked "What are their names?"
"Cameron, Josh and TJ."
All boys of course.....we are in so much trouble..............

Baby Bloopers

This weekend I got to throw my little sister a baby shower! And not just any baby shower, a "Couple's Baby Shower". Yes, I know the guys think it is a bit corny, but they are so much more fun and you can include so many more people that normally would not be invited. I promised my brother-in-law not too much pink and no games!

I had jsut laid my youngest down for a nap and I was busy setting up the drink table, arranging the drink glasses just so as I heard my daughter crying over the monitor....still not asleep. And she yells "poo poo", which normally means "mom I have a mess in my diaper I need changed". Now, let me take a step back, she is 21 months old and is by far from being potty trained but is beginning to grasp the concept. She knows what "it" aka "poop" is and does not like it sitting in her diaper. So if she has a mess during her nap she lets me know so I can come change her. Little did I know what surprise was waiting for me! Let's just say it looked something like this......

Curiosity got the best of my dear little angel. I imagine she tore off her uncomfortable diaper and got a bit curious at the mysterious contents and decided to play!

Well by now it was 3:15 and my house would be full of people at 4 and I still looked "Wheeza". Half the stuff that needed to be done was not ready, let alone neither of my girls had napped and both were crying! Just where did I leave that Calgon anyway? Thank god for my heavenly husband! I handed him our "candy" coated daughter and he took her straight to the tub while I cleaned up the nice mess she left me in the crib.

Everything worked out and the "shower" was a blast. Lots of pink booties and caps and even a fur coat! These sweet little outfits and soft blankies even make you think twice about a possible baby #3....I think it was the wine and a possible hormonal influx from my new bc pills. I know I am done having babies. I am 100% happy with my 2 sweet little angels. As for my husband, he is hopeful. He would love a boy to sport with and play football with and watch racing with, but statistically we would have a 25% chance of having a boy and I am not willing to roll those dice baby! I think that as the months roll by he will get used to the fact that estrogen rules in this house and Malaina will become his Nascar buddy - she loves to watch racing!

Say What???

It is Friday! So with it being Friday I decided to check out this site everyone is talking about, I hear it is all the rage. http://myheritage.com/

They scan a photo of you and match it up with celebrity faces. Does not sound all that bad right? Well was I in for a surprise! I have never thought that I even came close to looking like Felicity Huffman, though I am a dear fan of Desperate Housewives! My dreadful closest third match came in as Macaulay Culkin? I have never in my worst dreams thought I looked like him let alone a male match! And this picture they have of him! Dreadful! He looks pretty doped up - not a good pick Macaulay, I think you may need to fire your publicist.

For the remaining matches, I will will take Andie Macdowell, Gwyneth Paltrow, who wouldn't take Brooke Burns and of course Jenna Elfman at 55% who I think is a close personality match as
well. Sorry Martin, I am just not feelin it!

Happy Friday!

Into the Woods ~ Tree Hugger

I just listed a new set - Into the Woods. You could say we are getting in touch with nature!
Not quite sure what is the inspiration here, though I just loved the fabrics and wanted to do a cute little apron with this set!

End of the Season

So we just got back from our last camping trip to the lake for the season - sniff sniff.

There is something to be said about the lake. I am not quite sure just what I love so much about it? Afterall, I don't really consider myself to be the "country girl" type nor am I on the other end of "high maintenance"....I guess I fall somewhere in between. Could it be the fact that there is no schedule to follow, phone or television? Could it be the constant question of "what time is it?" and no one really knows but someone yells out "It's 5'oclock somewhere"! Is it the fact that you can eat breakfast at 11am and lunch at 4 and have dinner in complete darkness by the fire at 9:30 if you want to? I am not really sure, but I do know that I love all these little quirks and "rules" you get to break when you go camping even though you have kids and a husband!

We had a great time 6 days of beautiful weather and hot sun! Malaina enjoyed toad hunting every night and we had to cut her off at 30-40 toads once her cage got full. She looks like a mad scientist with her head lamp on! She is a total princess but the tom-boy comes out at night for toad hunting and does not even mind the dirt and grime.

The canyons in Guernsey are beautiful! It is so nice just to sit on the front of the boat and cruise through the canyon and watch the beauty!

My husban Steve and I even went cliff jumping. I don't do this every year. It usually takes a few drinks to really get my inspired! I am really afraid of heights and believe me, it looks 2x as high once you get up there! You can't think about it because once you creep up and look over and start to contemplate you could be there for hours! I believe I may have taken my usual 10 minutes of judgment before taking the ultimate plunge!

So with that I will leave you with this beautiful beach sunset!
